Sailability Forum UK: New mail

Request for use of your excellent book

You have received a new message from JohnSanderson.

Hi Simon
My wife Margaret and I recently had a brief visit to the UK, we were able to fit in day at Frensham Ponds with my wife’s cousin, a member there. They kindly gave us a couple of copies of “Introduction to Sailing, Sailing for beginners in a Hansa 2.3 and Hansa 303, by Simon Whiteley”. We are both very impressed by it.

We are both quite involved in Sailability in Australia, Margaret is the President of Sailability Dobroyd (a Sydney Metro branch) and I am on the New South Wales (NSW) executive responsible for Training and Development. NSW has twenty five branches, this text would be a great aid in improving our training and the consistency of its delivery. We are training Instructors using the Australian Sailing system, very similar to the RYA (we use RYA Powerboat course as is).

Last night at a NSW executive meeting I presented the book with a recommendation that I request the use of it. We would then distribute a couple of copies to each branch and distribute packs to the groups running courses.

I understand you are happy to let other Sailability groups reprint it, under the condition that it is attributed to you and Sailability Tideaway and that any charge for copies is to only cover costs and not to make a profit.

I would like on behalf of Sailability NSW to request the use of the book. Similarly to Fresham Pond we would add a NSW logo to the cover and add contact details on the inside front cover, otherwise it would be unchanged.

Thanks again and Cheers from Australia
John and Margaret Sanderson
